Of all of Disney Animation's critically panned films of the 2000's, this is the one that I actually enjoyed. Wouldn't go so far as to say that it's one of Disney's best, but I thought it was a pretty good movie. Did anybody else like this?

This is one of my favorite Disney movies. It's one of mine because of everything put together- good story, fun music, and the animation is incredible. I watched it a lot while designing a logo to see how Disney's animators drew certain features, and wow. Couldn't even find a flaw. And bears, no matter what kind, are extremely difficult to draw, so I applaud Disney's animators for this.

This is my 2nd favorite movie of all. I feel a strong Native American connection, so this one hits deep. While I see it could be impossible to actually become a bear, they made it believable. And the native chants are both haunting and meaningful.

Was listening to the soundtrack a couple of days ago, and dang, does Phil Collins do a fantastic job here! He's done the soundtrack of only one other Disney film (Tarzan), which I think is a shame. Here's to hoping that he does at least one more.

I'm with you, Rare, he always does such a great job. I can't think of one song on either soundtrack I don't like of his.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about this one. I think the last time I saw this movie was about 5 years ago and I'm afraid I don't remember much of the plot anymore. But I do remember finding it a good movie! I was watching with a bunch of small kids though. The other people at the party were like "What the hell is he doing there, that's a kid's movie...". I find it disturbing how "animated" automaticly equals "for kids" in most people's eyes It was a good, enjoyable movie!

I know what you mean, Czarine. I wish those people would give some of the better animation a chance so they could see for themselves how good it really is.

My dad is the same way. Whenever I sit down to watch a good Disney movie, he's all "you're watching a cartoon again? Aren't you a little old?"

Phil Collins is awesome by default. Thanks for linking though; I don't own the Brother Bear OST yet, but I'm seriously consider buying or at least downloading it now.

Woo. Okay, personal update. I now own the DVD of the first and second movie, the soundtrack of the first movie, the soundtrack of the second movie from iTunes and a release poster of the first movie (used to hang in the Pathe cinema in Rotterdam, bought it on a Dutch auction site). This movie is among my all-time Disney favorites now! If you've seen my new deviantART page, you'll notice most of it is Brother Bear-related too! I also joined a fanforum early in November. Thanks you guys for reminding me of this awesome movie!

Speaking of Native American, I saw on the making of Brother Bear that there are storys of men turning into bears.
